Doctor, Doctor, Give me the News

So I went to the doctor yesterday just for all sorts of things yesterday. I had a mole I wanted him to check, my heel has been killing me, and an ingrown toenail (I know, gross!). So first things first, the mole. It is on my left collar bone and very irregular looking. Dr. DiBernardo did not like the look of it and he wants it cut out immediately and sent out to be looked at. Great. Then my heel. I have heel spurs so I have to wear tennis shoes ALL the time now. He said even right when I get out of bed. I hate shoes! And last the ingrown toenail. He said to soak it every night, push back the skin and then try and cut it out, that way he wont have to because it hurts really bad AND he takes off about half your whole nail! So not a very good visit. OH and my blood pressure is WAY up. I am so freaking depressed after this visit.

Father's Day Gift

I can post this because my husband never looks at my blog. I wanted to show everyone what I got Dave, from Emery, for Fathers Day. I got this cuff from Lisa Leonard Designs. I have already blogged about Lisa and her necklaces that I like. But anyway, you can get the cuff engraved to say whatever you want. So, since this is for Father's Day, I got the word "Athair" engraved on the cuff which is the Irish word for "Father". I think Dave will really like it and I think it is a great way to start a Father's Day tradition.

Rock Star

My child is a complete Rock Star! This is Emery climbing on the rock wall at Dynamic Earth, an outdoor sports store in Springfield Missouri. I guess we had better start getting this girl some climbing gear. Okay, I'm totally just kidding. My friend Leah was holding on to Emery the whole time, she just used photoshop to hide her hand. haha!

Can I steal that?

Tonight was the night I caught up on my Grey's Anatomy and let me say I have not cried at a TV show like I did tonight on all 3 episodes in a long time. First episode, a little girl dies in her daddy's arms, who isn't going to cry at that. Even Dave was crying. Then in the next episode, Izzy's cancer gets worse but she has to lie to her mom about it. And then, in the last one, Izzy isn't going to live much longer so the "perfect" wedding she planned for Meredith and Derek becomes her wedding to Alex. I just could not stop! I might as well of rented Marly & Me to top off the night. But in that last episode when all the college students died, the one girl made a pretty impressive speech starting with, "Today is the day I begin my life,". Now, I am not graduating from anything, but I do have my best friends wedding coming up and I wanted to make a small toast. And now I can't get "Today is the day Heather begins her life." Can I do that? There of course would be more and I surly hope to make people laugh in my speech because that is what I do best, but I really like that opener.

Happy Mother's Day

Well, my first Mother's Day has come and gone and I'm going to be honest, it was okay. Sunday morning, Dave woke up with Emery and let me sleep in. I am usually up around 6am and I actually slept until 9am! That is huge for me. Then Dave game me my gift from him and Emery. It was a beautiful wine rack that sits on the floor and kind of comes up like a tree. I completely love it but I have to be honest that I am a little disappointed. I was really hoping for something a little more "mothery" I guess. Like the necklace I posted below or pictures of Emery. But, I think I am pretty lucky to be getting anything at all with the way money has been. So after that, we ran to Pets Mart and got Reese's nails trimmed and then off to brunch at my sister Megans house. It was delicious! After that, we made a very expensive trip to wal-mart and then home to write some papers for school that I had due the next day.

I also want to write an update on Emery. She turned 7 months old last Friday and my what a big girl she is. Just a few weeks ago, Emery has mastered the art of crawling. She now goes wherever she feels like going, especially to cords and shoes. Emery has also been pulling up and anything she can get a grip on. We went and got her one of those walker things that have lights and stuff on it. She loves to play with the lights and sounds, but has not yet figured out the walking part. And that is fine by me. I don't really want that to start yet. She is just getting too big too quick. Emery jabbers a lot as well. I swear she says "mama", even though she doesn't yet know what it means. She is still quite a little bully sometimes. She likes to pull hair, pinch skin, and grab your nose...and not let go! But she is still sweet, and sleeping through the night which is always a plus.

Shout out to my friend Shannon who just gave birth (only 5 hours of labor and 5 min. of pushing!!!!) to a beautiful red headed girl, Logan.

Mothers Day

So of course I am ready my Parenting Magazine and I see this as a featured gift for Mothers Day. Now I am not normally into these kind of things but I just LOVE this necklace from Lisa Leonard. And surprisingly they are not too expensive. Anyway, I just thought they were a cute alternative to birth stones. Again, love them.
