Finger Painting Fun

So usually Emery goes to the babysitters house while Dave and I work, but she had a death in her family last week so Emery got to come to Mommy's work! She had such a good time. She got to play with new friends, new toys, new teachers, and she got to finger paint for the first time! She LOVED it. She got so upset when they took her paper away that they gave her another one. When she was finished with that one and they took it away, she continued to paint with her fingers on the tray! I guess I'm going to need to get some paint and paper for the new little artist.

Running Barefoot

So I am not a runner at all, though I once was. But in my parents magazine I saw these shoes! They are the next best thing to running barefoot. They fit all the way around so nothing can get in, so if you like to run on the beach but hate the sand in your shoes, you have found your solution. If I ran or rock climbed I would def. look into buying these at FiveFingers.

Goodbye Sweet Tooth

So, if anyone knows me at all, you know that I have a sweet tooth, bad! I munch on sweet things all day long. Because of this, I have decided that for Lent, as well as for my health, that I am giving up sweets. To ward off the sweet tooth I have purchased lots of gum. Hey, the gum helped me quit smoking, now hopefully it will help with this.
I really wanted to choose something that was going to be a challenge for me this year. I have failed most other years in the past, but for some reason, this year really means a lot to me to actually stick to it. Maybe it is because I want to be healthier, maybe because I don't want Emery growing up around sweets, I'm not sure. But I do know that as of tomorrow, sweets are out of my life. So goodbye vanilla waffers and delicious chocolate teddy grahams. I will beat you down!

Never to Late

So, I realize that I have not posted anything in a really long time and I am sorry. I have just had so much on my plate lately, bumming around on the internet has not been one of my top priorities. I actually still do not have much to blog about so here are some things that I am doing right now.
Of course I am taking care of my Emery every day and night. She has started some cereal, which she is not too fond of but we are just getting her use to the texture and taste right now. She has started rolling every which way. You can lay her on her back in the middle of the floor, walk away, and when you return, she is in a completely different spot on her tummy! I finally splurged and got Emery her first bathing suit from Baby Gap. I could not help myself when I saw it. I can not wait to get her in a pool. I'm going to look into some baby aquatics at the YMCA or something. If she takes after her mommy, she will be a little shark in the water.
At night after Emery goes to bed and I have some time to myself, I will pick up Twilight and read for about an hour. Dave got me the book for Valentines day and I am grateful that he listens to my subtle hints. I am really enjoying this book a lot more than I thought I would. It really is more of a love story than anything which again, didn't think I would like, but I do. There are 4 books in this series and I can not wait to get through this first one to get onto the next.
For Christmas, my mom got Dave and I a $100 gift card to Ruth's Chris. We decided to finally use it Saturday night. I got the ribeye, Dave got the cowboy ribeye, we split some steak fries, and got dessert. $103 was our total!!! But, I can honestly say it was completely worth it! They were so friendly when we walked in, the manager came to our table to welcome us, the asst. manager said hello, and our waitress Karen was amazing. I have never felt so special in a restaurant before. It was perfect. Considering the price, I don't believe Dave and I will be back too soon without another gift certificate, but it did its purpose. Dave and I enjoyed a great night out! Thanks Mom!!

Things I'm Loving!

I am loving these sunglasses from Burberry. Every time I go to Zona, I "borrow" them from a friend and wear them around. But then I have to return them when I am done. Boo!
I don't have an apron yet, but I love this one from Jessie Steele.
I'm not much of a heel girl, but I love these heels from Burberry.
