Dave and I are getting ready to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary on New Years Eve. Even though Dave and I can get into some pretty intense fights, I still love him so much. He is a great father and a great husband. I know he loves me and will always love me. I am so thankful that I found him. We don't have any big files of the pictures from our wedding because we didn't think about it at the time, so we talked about getting married again one day...I like that idea. Maybe this time I can get my dream dress!

Lets not Forget

I know Christmas is an exciting time for everyone. This year for Christmas, Dave and I don't have a lot of money to buy our family presents, but this made me think. Are we forgetting the true meaning of this holiday? Everyone is out shopping and getting mad at everyone in traffic, for what? Presents to put under the tree? I'm not complaining, I love getting presents, but I don't want that to be what Emery thinks of Christmas.

Like I said before, Dave and I don't have a lot of money, but whenever I have a couple of extra bucks and I am walking by one of those bell ringing guys, I will put my few bucks in there, and it puts a smile on my face. At HyVee, I always donate $1 to the Harvest food thing that is up at the register. These are just little things that I can do to help someone else out at Christmas time.

I want to Thank everyone who helped out someone in need this Christmas season. There are a lot of people out there that are less fortunate than us. We should not forget that. I hope that in years to come, Dave and I will have enough money to adopt a family for Christmas to show Emery that it feels good to give.

I hope Everyone has a great Holiday season and does not forget what the season is really about.

Well If I Had A Million Dollars

Everyone loves the question, what would you do if you won the lottery. We were talking about this at work the other day. If you woke up one morning and checked your bank account and found that you had 50 million dollars in your account, what would you do in order....here is what I would do with my millions starting with the very first thing.

1. Pay off ALL debts. My house, car, credit cards.

2. Make an appt. with a financial person to invest my money and see how much money to put where.

3. Set up a college account with 2 million dollars in it for Emery

4. Go car shopping for Dave. My car is fairly new, I don't need a new one yet =)

5. Go house hunting to get a big enough house to extend our family, since we would be able to do so now.

6. Pay off my Dads house and buy him a new car

7. Pay off my Moms house and buy her her dream Lexus.

8. Pay off my sisters house and student loan

9. Buy Andrew a house in KC for when he graduates

10. Shop till I drop!

11. Tummy tuck for Dave and I (after I am done having babies).

12. Dream vacation to hawaii for however long we want.

I would of course quit my job but would def. give them two weeks notice. I would want to stay home with my kids till they are in school, then I would prob. work part time just to stay busy. As for the house shopping thing, not sure if we would buy a new house or build a house. I guess we will just have to wait and see when the time comes.

Dress me Pretty

I am not much of a dress person what so ever. If I could get away with looking good in some of these dresses, I might just justify paying the price tag for them. Actually they are not too terribly expensive, I just really can't spend a lot of money on dresses. It's not in my blood. My sister and my friend Leah buy cute dresses all the time but they both look incredible in them. I stumbled across this website and found these. Find them at ModCloth.

Update in Emery

Well since I did name my blog after my daughter I'm going to update everyone on how she is doing. Emery is a little over 2 months old now. Of course I believe her to be the most beautiful baby ever. She is obsessed with ceiling fans. When she is laying on our bed, she will just look up at the fan and crack up. Emery loves to suck on her fingers. I can not get the girl to get a binki in her mouth, I have tried a million times, but the girl loves her fingers. She just started sleeping in her own room in her crib all night. Before she was in our room in a bassinet. I'm not going to lie, I cried the first night she went in her room for the night. She still smiles in her sleep and sometimes she will give me a huge gummy smile while sleeping. She also will smile at you when you talk to her. It doesn't matter what you say to her, she thinks it's funny. I just love this stage of life that she is in right now. When she is tired she cuddles up with me and lays her head on my chest, sticks her fingers in her mouth and hums. At her doctor check up we found out that is is almost at 12 pounds and 23 inches long. Growing up so fast! I'll miss these days.

Another one of those blogs....

My dad HATES it when I put bows in Emery's hair but sometimes I just can't help but want to. I found these adorable hair clips at lilsugarplum. I forgot which celebrity bought these for their daughter but I saw them on her fell in love...just don't think I can spend $8 on each color I would want. Well, maybe I'll get just one color =)

Santa Baby

Santa Baby...here is my wish list for Christmas. This is a very realistic list of real things that I would really love, but they are all very expensive...that's why this is my "wish list".
A week long trip to Tahiti would be nice.
A day at the spa. And if not a day, then a massage, mani and pedi would work too.
An iPod touch would be fab!
I big fat curling iron so I can curl my hair.
A new power cord for my MacBook Pro since mine is being held together by electrical tape.
A new camcorder that records straight to DvD so I can record all my fun family moments.
A new bedspread for our bed because the dryer ate ours.....twice.
And last but not least, a new Chi straightening iron, because mine is crapping out on me.

Have you been naughty or nice this holiday season?

Bedtime Blues

If I would have found these bedding sheets before I bought the ones that I already had, I would have gotten the pink one below. Love them! I can't believe I have not stumbled on these before.
Find them at Mason and Matisse.

Mugged

Okay so I'm not a coffee drinker at all. But, I do drink apple cider and hot chocolate so I think I can have a say in this. Coffee Mugs. Love them. Especially oversized ones. Like the huge ones you use to see on FRIENDS. I think coffee mugs should be mis-matched and all different colors and sizes. I love these oversized mugs from cuisinart.

The New Tights

I remember when I use to have to wear tights to church or a special event underneath my dress or skirt. I HATED them because they rode up and were itchy. Kids have it too easy these days with these new leggings from Baby Legs I'm sure I'll find some cute ones for Emery's outfits.

Thankful for You

So I am a little late on posting what I am thankful for so here is my list....
My best friend Leah for always being there for me and making me laugh. She has been such a great friend to me through thick and thin.

My loving husband, even though he can get on my nerves, he loves me and tries hard to keep our family afloat.
My mom, because she is my rock. She's a little cooky at times but she is always there for me and helps me out in my times of need even though I'm grown.
My brother, because he can always put a smile on my face no matter what kind of mood I am in. He is a great brother and I am very proud of him.
Of course, I am thankful for my beautiful daughter Emery. She is a great baby, always happy, and loves me no matter what. Just looking at her makes me so happy. I am so thankful she is in my life.
My dad because he is always proud of me no matter what I do. The smallest thing to me is the biggest thing in his eyes and it makes me feel good that I have someone that always believes in me.
I left my sister Megan for last because I have a lot of thankfulness for her. Megan has always been my backbone. I am so thankful to have her for an older sister. She is so good to me and to Emery. She is a hard worker for what she wants and plays hard because she earns it. I envy her in a way but without her, I would be a mess.

All together I am thankful for my big beautiful family, my dog Reese who can make me mad but can also always make me laugh out loud, my job because it is not going anywhere during these hard times, and breastfeeding, because lets face it, I'm saving a ton of money!

re-decorating

Things that I love from CB2. If I could ever go back and re-decorate my house, these would make the cut.

"We need to talk"

So ever since Emery has come into our lives, things have been a little tense around the house between Dave and I. Some days we are great and in love and others we are pissed and snappy with each other. We are having more pissy days than good ones but I understand why and it does not make me love him any less.
The point of this is I feel like I have been losing my relationship with God through all of this. When I was in high school, I felt really close to God and had a good relationship with him, but as I have gotten older, I have lost that connection. My friend Marcia that I work with has a great relationship with him and we talk about him often and how I feel like I don't deserve to talk to him and ask him for help when I have been away from him this long.

WELL, just the other day, Dave and I got into a big fight and I was really upset. We were driving in the car on a route that we take pretty often. I was getting upset when for some reason I looked up on the side of the road and saw this sign, "We need to talk. -God" I got goose bumps! I started talking to him right then and there! Talk about a sign, I got a billboard!

As I like to call it.....TSO

For my birthday, my sister got Dave and I tickets to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra...TSO. It was AMAZING! They run around the stage playing their music, which is also amazing, while the lights and lasers and different colored flames lit up Sprint Center! The only thing that dampened the evening was the man that fell down the stairs during the show (scary!) AND the fact that I have not worn heals in over 10 months, and walking 3 blocks from the car to the sprint center in heals was not a great idea. But all in all, thank you Megan for a fun night out!

Sleep Tight

Now that it is getting cold out again, and the washing machine ate my comforter, we have been looking for a new bedding set. I love these from Pottery Barn. I looked into buying this green one above, but of course it was on sale and they were sold out of the king size. Boo!

See Kai Run

I love love love these shoes from See Kai Run. I have never seen anything quite like them and they are so unique. When Emery gets old enough to wear shoes, I just may have to splurge on some of these shoes.
