Goals to Live By

So, I make make a whole list of goals that I want to do, the trick, is sticking to it. I have thought good and hard about this list and am really going to try to stick to it. I need to do it for my physical health, mental health, and emotional health. So here is my goal list, and I plan to keep it updated on here to make sure I am sticking to it.

1. Clean up my debt
2. Work at least 40 hours a week
3. Lose weight/Get in shape
4. Run 1/2 marathon by this time next year
5. Be nicer to my husband, even if he is not being nice to me
6. Blog more, even if I don't have anything special to blog about
7. Drink more water
8. Stop giving in to my cigarette cravings for my health, and my daughter
9. Actually cook more meals instead of just pancakes or PB&J for dinner
10. Call and visit my grandparents more often

I am interested to see how well I stick with these goals. Encouragement is welcome.

Great Generations

I decided that it was finally time for Emery to meet her Great Great Grandma Tanner. Yes, that would be my Grandma's mother. Grandma Tanner was so surprised to see us and meet baby Emery, even though she thought Emery was a boy for the first 20 min. we were there, haha. She is doing very well though, cracking jokes and telling stories. It was so good to see her again and I am so happy we went to visit. When my grandma gets home from Florida, her, my mom, Emery and I are going to go back to get a 5 generation picture. Thank goodness I will be driving with one of them because the drive from Kansas City to Wichita is BORING!!! Never again will I make that trip alone!

Emery is 5 months old now and we just got her pictures done at Portrait Innovations in Wichita KS. The lady did a great job with the look I was going for. Here are some of the pictures she took.

UPDATE: Emery is eating some jar food now, veggies now. She is almost crawling, pulling up on all fours. Emery is still a very happy baby. She has never met a stranger she didn't like and sleeps all night.

Well, I thought it was funny

President Obama was on Leno last night and if you have not already heard, he made a comment on his bowling skills, comparing it to the Special Olympics. It really has stirred up quite a commotion on all the news stations and stuff and even though I do AGREE with Obama apologizing to the Special Olympics, I don't agree with how much of an issue is has become. I mean come on, how many of us have said something that has referred to "that subject".  I hope not everyone is taking Obama so seriously on this subject and is realizing how great of a job he is doing in Washington. And I thought it was funny.

I finally finished the third book to the 'Twilight' series, 'Eclipse'. I liked this book much more than the other two. It had a lot more action in it than love story. I am very eager to read Breaking Dawn and finish up the series, though I am nervous to see what I will want to read next. Bella, the main character in the book, really pissed me off in this book though. She is just SO selfish! Putting all her friends and family in jeopardy because she thinks she is in love. It was really hard for me to read the last couple of chapters especially because she was just really making me mad.

On the other hand, I am very excited that I have picked up reading again. Because of the economy and other stuff, Dave and I are cutting back on a few things, including our satellite TV. But I am excited about this because I think I will read more and it will help set a better example for Emery to not have the TV on all the time and get more attention from us. I don't think we will miss the satellite much.

Movie Review

I finished the book Twilight last Friday and just had to see the movie. So Sunday, Dave and I went to the theater, which is a big deal for me because I HATE going to the movies, and saw Twilight. I was so excited to see this movie because I just LOVED the book so much. I can not believe how disappointed I was. The actor that played the main character Edward, in random parts of the movie he would just stare off into space. And I was personally not too impressed with his acting. The other main character that played Bella did a great job though. She fit the role perfectly. Of course, there has never been a movie made that is from a book that is as good as the book, but I did expect better. I loved the action part of the movie, but it only lasted about 10 min. granted the book does not have much action in it either, but I was expecting them to drag that out a little more than the actual love story. Anyway, my opinion, this movie is a movie to rent. I'll be eager to see how well they do the new book, New Moon. I'll probably rent that one though.
